July 12 – 41st Annual Chuckanut Foot Race. Fairhaven. 9 a.m. start at Marine Park; 11 a.m. Awards at Larrabee State Park. A 7-mile run. Follows the Interurban trail to Larrabee State Park on Chuckanut Drive. Race includes chip timing, water stations on the course, age-group awards, draw prizes, and a post-race celebration at Larrabee State Park with food and entertainment. July 26 – Paddle to Lummi 2008. Up to 80 canoes, arriving from as far away as Bella Coola, B.C. will arrive on the shores of the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community the morning of Saturday, July 26. Swinomish is the next-to-last stop on the journey. www.paddletolummi.com.
